OLD BUSINESS –
Mary Killoran read the proposed changes
to the Constitution. These included
revising the Board of Directors to a five member panel (President, Vice
President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary) and
modifying our affiliation from USSF, OYSAN and USYSA to USSF and its approved affiliated
organizations.
SCHEDULING SESSION –
All age groups and brackets were reviewed and several last minute changes and/or confirmations were exchanged. Schedules listing game number, date, time and field assignment were submitted to Robin. Final schedules will be emailed out as soon as possible.
REPORTS –
Jan Marsh
Birth certificates are still being collected by NOGSL for all players who are new to our League. Please submit an actual government document, not a hospital certificate. Risk management confirmation sheets must accompany coach registration forms. New players and coaches may be added to existing rosters until April 23rd. Tonight is the last night to add new teams. There is a $5 per day per team late fee. Jan will be taking a vacation in a few weeks. Community reps need to contact her to get the details and arrange for registrations. She will be able to communicate via email with her Blackberry.
Howard Klebanow
We have 66 teams registered for the tournament this weekend at the Soccer Sportsplex. Games will be held from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday and from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. All U-9 players will receive a participation award. First and second place trophies will be handed out in all brackets for U-10 through U-14.
Robin Jaratz
Each community should pick up a season packet from Robin after the schedules have been turned in. Laminated rules cards for small sided games have been included along with game cards and instructions for their completion. Extra cards may be obtained by contacting Robin or Debbie during the season. Please use the cards, not scrap paper, for game rosters.
NEW BUSINESS –
Carl Pavlovich
Thank you plaques were distributed to Board Members and volunteers who helped to make the last year work.
Al Soper
Ohio North is in the process of finalizing their selection of a new electronic registration program. We do not have all the information on its capabilities or how to use it yet. We will hold a special training session meeting some time in the summer to get everyone up to speed. More information will be sent out by email when we know what we will be dealing with.
Carl Pavlovich has resigned as Vice President to take on the job of Executive Director. He will be investigating various opportunities for us in the future. Howard Klebanow has been appointed to his position as Vice President and Mark Ruscin has been appointed to the job of Second Vice President. They will serve in these roles until the November election of officers.
We are going to talk with Greater Akron (GAASA) to see if they would like to send teams to one of our tournaments – maybe even as soon as this summer. We’ve had some feedback that many teams would like to compete against some new faces. If we are able to work out something with them, information will be distributed to the membership.
