Al Soper, President:

Nordonia is new community to league.

Miriam Cook is NOGSL administrator.

Howard Klebanow, Vice President:

Fall season:  compared to prior years, there were a small number of game changes, and we’re making headway.

Spring:  Coaches cannot make game changes with other coaches.  All game changes must be done between the community reps.  We need to keep the changes down to make things easier on everyone.

Web site changes:  Beginning for spring, we will do team registrations online.  Communities will register all teams via the web site, and they’ll be submitted to the Administrator.  We will also work the preliminary schedule online.  There will be an ADMIN heading on the web site home page that will have a link to the pre-schedule.  All game changes will be submitted to admin@nogsl.com for posting to preliminary schedules.  Reps will be able to view changes live on web site.

Team contacts will be shown on team’s schedule page instead of on a spreadsheet.  This new function will allow the administrator to update as needed without delay.

Forming 5 committees:  we need reps to volunteer on these new committees.

  1. Tournament
  2. Bracketing
  3. Referee review
  4. Coaches/Code of Conduct
  5. All Star Game

                  May 31:  All Star Game

High school league meeting has not yet been scheduled.

Carl Pavlovich, Registrar:

Everyone did a great job implementing LeagueOne.  NOGSL is 1st league to be 100% compliant in fall.

Spring registrations for new players/teams:  Effective Feb. 1, 2009 you can enter into LeagueOne.

Risk Management:  takes time to be approved.  Please allow enough time.  Going forward, everyone’s certification will expire on August 31, regardless of when you become approved.  Get RM certifications done early; if you have new coaches coming on board, have them do it now.

Do not register new teams as U8.  OYSAN caps U8 rosters at 10 since they play 5v5.  NOGSL only registers U9 and up.

Team names:  Please fill out the team names in LeagueOne as thoroughly as possible.  This will make it much easier to identify the proper teams when looking at the master list.  i.e. instead of AL U10, use Avon Lake U10, etc.

Team ID #’s:  6 digits.  1st 3 digits use community code.  Next 2 digits use age group.  Last digit, identify team (A, B, C, or 1, 2, 3, etc)

It is very difficult to drop players.  Please be careful when adding players so we don’t end up going through the drop process.  Transfers are no problem.  We are billed by OYSAN for each player.

Mark Ruscin, 2nd VP:

None

Debbie Anderson, Treasurer:

Bob’s invoices show ( ) if you OWE money to NOGSL.  His invoices cover up to 7/31/08.  Send all payments due to Debbie.

Billed out 61 communities for over $107,000.  26 communities are still outstanding.  We paid $56158 to OYSAN for fall.

Spring bills will reflect $5/coach credit for Risk Management certifications.

Reps need to send Debbie billing address for their community.

Al Soper, President:

When rescheduling games due to rainouts, etc, let the ref assignors reschedule the referees.

League is considering offering subsidy to youth referees to take certification clinics.  Over 50% of games are covered by youth referees, and we need to have more.

If you have a referee problem/issue, send the ref assignor an email and ask for help.

If a red card is issued during a game, the game card and player/coach pass goes to referee.

Referees are to be paid BEFORE each game.

If you have a game cancellation, reps need to go through NOGSL and email referee assignor.  If cancelling less than 24 hours prior to game, CALL referee assignor.

Unregistered players are not permitted to play in any games.  This presents a liability to the league.  Everyone who plays must be registered.

OYSAN meeting:  state is considering centrally located training sessions for LeagueOne.

Send Debbie Anderson your community’s billing address.

Election of officers:  Al Soper

Nominee for 2nd VP:  Mark Ruscin.  Motion made and seconded.  Nominations closed, Mark elected.
